Our Story
The academy which began with a modest house concert concept grew organically to the stature of international organization. This growth can be traced from the academy organizing Bhajans, local community singing groups, formal concerts, competitions, music festivals, children's festivals, national festivals, and global music festivals.
The concerts have been organized in association with prestigious organizations like Department of Kannada & Culture, Ministry of Culture-Government of India, ICCR, Sangeetha and Nritya Academy, Canara Bank and Union Bank of India, and other prestigious organizations.
Founder
Layakalaaprathibhamani Vidwan KV Ravishankar Sharma's aptitude to teach combined with his purpose to spread this classical artform, has made him create many interactive formats which enables learners to understand and appreciate Mridangam.
Ravishankar Sharma was initiated into Mridangam learning under the tutelage of "Karnataka Kalashree" Vidwan M.Vasudeva Rao, a renowned and respected teacher. Having imbibed the basis of Mridangam, he further pursued his learning from Kalaimamani Vidwan Guruvayur Dorai a Doyen in the field of Mridangam.
